A few Valentines...

These silk flower pins will soon be arriving in the mailboxes of the three leading ladies in my life. They're made of sewn-together silk flower petals and vintage buttons.

The Loving Chicken Thank You Cards

Hand stamped on brown paper stationary, these thank you cards will arrive in the mailboxes of those who made my holidays so wonderful! The possibilities are ENTIRELY ENDLESS when it comes to making your own cards. I plan on making card sets for birthday gifts this year. There are lots of amazing stamps for sale on Etsy but you should also try making your own with supplies available at any arts and crafts store.

A New Year

1/01/11, it feels like it's time to wrap my mind in leather straps and throw it as far as I can.

Making gifts may actually sustain me for life.

Behold:
*A Russian nesting doll portrait of my sister.
*A stitch sampler for my mom.
*A Pueblo spiritual balance bird for my love.

Autumnal project: Grandma's Flower Garden quilt

The technique for this hex quilt is called English paper piecing. The fabric is cut into hexagons, wrapped around paper hexagons and secured with basting stitches (red). After all of the hexes are sewn together, the red stitches are removed along with the paper.

Stay tuned! This will take me about a year to finish!!
